What is Website Hosting?
If you have a website or need a website or need a website then you’ll need website hosting. In basic terms it’s a place online where you store all your files and folders that create your website. It’s like having a usb memory stick or external hard drive that stores all your important documents. But instead of the files only being available to you, they’re in the cloud and available to everyone to view. You may have heard of GoDaddy or 1&1 – these are hosting companies on massive scales.
The benefits of hosting your website with me
Hosting your website with me is the most simple and easiest solution. It gives me full control of your website without having to approach a third party with any queries. It’s easy to develop a website when it’s in my control as I have access to much more in depth hosting options. Hosting with me is easier for you too. If you have any questions relating to your website you’ll be able to ring me. That means you won’t have to wait on the phone on hold while waiting to speak to someone. It also guarantees you’ll speak to someone in this country. The cost of hosting with me is similar to other web hosting providers but at least you’ll be in the safe knowledge that your website is being managed properly.
Backing up your website
Once in a while a website may go offline, be hacked or error. As with phones, cars, house etc a website can break / go wrong. This is nothing surprising, even massive companies such as Google and Facebook error once in a while. The key thing is, is knowing what to do when something does go wrong and moving as swiftly as possible to get back on track. As a protocol I back up all my websites twice a day. This means that if you do make an error, or something technically goes wrong I’ll have all your files backed up and ready to re-boot. Backing up the sites is all part and parcel of hosting with myself. Other web hosting companies such as GoDaddy may sound cheap for their hosting but then they charge you over the rates to add on such services as ‘backing up’. Plus they’re not always straight forward and easy to actually use. If you host you website with me sorting a back up is as easy as picking up the phone and talking to me direct.
